Books by Jean Agnew

A graduate of Bedford College, London (BA) and The Queen’s University of Belfast (PhD), Jean Agnew is also a registered member of the Society of Archivists.

She has worked for the Historical Manuscripts Commission, London (1964-76), the Ulster Historical Foundation (part time 1984-94), the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (1995-97), the Women’s History Project, Dublin (1997-99) and the Norfolk Record Office (part time 1982-84, and as a volunteer 2004-09). Her main publications are: Belfast Merchant Families in the Seventeenth Century (Four Courts Press, Dublin, 1996) and The Drennan-McTier Letters (Irish Manuscripts Commission, 3 vols., 1998-99) and The Whirlpool of Misadventures, Letters of Robert Paston, 1st Earl of Yarmouth, 1663-1679 (Norfolk Record Society (2013), (vol. LXXVI).
