Product Description
Church of Ireland churches are an important part of the built heritage of Ireland, reflecting the complexity of Irish life and enriching the complexity of Irish life and enriching the urban and rural landscapes in which they stand. Recording the architectural history of that heritage, however, has not been a high priority of the church and there is a noticeable dearth of architectural studies particularly of the little known churches in more remote areas.
It is hoped that this book, which records something of the architecture and history of the fourteen churches and chapels, past and present, dedicated to St. George, will encourage a greater interest in the architecture of all churches and not just those famous and well documented buildings situated in the cities and large towns.
