Guarantees

The Ulster Historical Foundation guarantees that all books will arrive in good condition. In the unlikely event that your order has been damaged in transit, please return the package to us at the address below and a duplicate order will be dispatched immediately.

Orders

You can order online 24 hours a day using this bookstore. We also accept orders by post, fax and telephone. If ordering by fax or telephone, please remember that we will require credit card details in order to process your order.

Delivery times and order progress

We aim to dispatch your order as quickly as we can, usually within 2-3 days of receiving it. Please note that particularly during special offer periods order volume can be very high and may cause a delay of 1-2 days. You will be notified of any change to your order status by e-mail.

If your order includes books from another publisher and we do not have them in stock, they will then be specially ordered for you. If this is the case, please allow an additional 3-4 days.

Shipping

We can ship books to any country in the world. The online order form will ask you to choose your delivery county and will automatically calculate the postage costs for you.

Forthcoming titles

Please remember that publication dates are subject to change at any time. If you submit an advance order for one of our forthcoming titles you can verify the anticipated publication date through the website by accessing the ‘New and Forthcoming Titles’ page. We make every effort to update this page regularly, in order to provide you with the most accurate information about when you can expect to receive your book. This will be within approximately 5 days of the publication date. In the case of a mixed order (i.e. one that includes both existing and forthcoming titles) those books that are available will be dispatched within our normal timescales and the advance order will follow approximately 5 days after publication.

Discounts

All online shoppers receive a 5% discount on Ulster Historical Foundation titles. Members receive an extra 10% discount on top of this, giving them a total discount of 15%. Please note that the Ulster Historical Foundation supplies books from other publishers and NO discount will be given on these titles (unless otherwise specified).

Libraries: Libraries receive a 10% discount on all UHF titles, but are still required to pay for postage.

Book shops: All bookshops receive a standard discount of 33.33% on UHF titles only. Booksellers within the UK and Ireland do not have to pay postage.

Returns procedure

All returns should be securely wrapped and returned along with the original wrapping to:

Please enclose a note stating the reason for the return. You will also need to give us a correspondence address if this is different from the delivery address. We will refund the price paid for the item(s) purchased, but regret that we cannot refund the postage charge. However, if the return is due to an error on our part we will refund the original purchase price, postage charge and any return postage costs incurred.

Cancellations

You can cancel any order prior to dispatch for a full refund. Any order can be cancelled within 7 days of the delivery date for a refund of the original purchase price. Providing the goods are returned to us in their original condition we will issue a refund for the original price. Please note that you are responsible for the cost of returning books to us unless they were received damaged, or delivered to you in error. If we have made a mistake in fulfilling your order, a full refund (including postage costs) will be given without question.

Data Protection and confidentiality

The Ulster Historical Foundation undertakes not to share or disclose customer information with any third party. In accordance with our policies and those of the Data Protection Act, all personal information is treated in the strictest confidence and is held in accordance with our own internal security measures. We only request and retain that information which we feel necessary to allow us to process your order and to provide you with the best possible service. From time to time, we may contact you with offers or information about Ulster Historical Foundation publications and services. We also reserve the right to notify you of new titles from other reputable and carefully selected publishers. In all cases contact is made by the Ulster Historical Foundation directly and under no circumstances will any third party be given access to this type of information. If you would rather not receive information of this sort, you can check the box at the bottom of the order form.

Credit card security

This website uses Paypal and Google Checkout to process payments. Both of these payment gateways use encryption and a secure server for security. While every reasonable precaution has been taken to ensure that this site is safe for online credit card transactions, Ulster Historical Foundation cannot accept any liability or responsibility for any damages or loss arising from the transmission of credit card details or other information over the Internet. Please remember that the order forms can be downloaded and sent by post or fax. If you include a valid return e-mail address, the order will be acknowledged and an order reference number will be generated. This will allow you to track the progress of your order.
