Keep it simple; your proposal should be in an easily read font (e.g. Arial, Times New Roman), in A4 format and set in either double, 1.5 or single line spacing. Do not submit a manuscript with images, etc., embedded in the text, nor formatted using publishing software. Supply the proposal in text-only format.

The submission should include a covering letter, a list of chapter titles with short synopsis of each and a sample chapter. You should provide your contact details along with your submission, including: name, address, telephone and email.

Do not send original photographs, historical documents or other materials, CDs with scans of images, etc. The Foundation accepts no responsibility for such materials, nor will the Foundation pay for them to be returned. Any such materials received contrary to this advice will be held for a limited period only awaiting collection and after that will be disposed of.

Please do not make repeated enquiries about the progress of your application. We will contact you if we require further information, and we will notify you of the decision of the publications committee once it has been made. Do not give up if the Foundation says no. Publishing is a highly competitive business and many submissions do not get accepted. This should not dissuade you; there may be other publishers interested in your work.
